व्याख्या (Explanation )
1. ‘each other’ का प्रयोग दो के लिए और दो से अधिक के लिए ‘one another’ का प्रयोग होता है। यहाँ ‘one another’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘five sisters’ की बात हो रही है।
2. ‘Neither of’ के बाद Noun तो Plural आता है पर Verb Singular प्रयुक्त होता है। अत: ‘lead’ के स्थान ‘leads’ का प्रयोग होगा।
3. ‘except’ के बाद Pronoun का Objective Case प्रयुक्त होता है। अत: ‘I’ के स्थान पर ‘me’ का प्रयोग होगा।
4. यदि gerund का प्रयोग हुआ हो और उसके पहले कोई Pronoun प्रयुक्त हुआ है, तो वह Possessive Case में होगा। अत: ‘me’ के स्थान पर ‘my’ का प्रयोग उचित होगा ।
5. ‘who’ के स्थान पर ‘whom’ का प्रयोग होगा।
6. ‘either’ के स्थान पर ‘any’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि दो से अधिक व्यक्तियों/वस्तुओं के लिए any/any one का प्रयोग होता है।
7. चूँकि यहाँ पर Patna व Lucknow के crimate की तुलना हो रही है। अतः Lucknow के पहले ‘that of का प्रयोग किया जायेगा ।
8. ‘that’ के स्थान पर ‘as’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘the same’ के बाद Verb स्पष्ट न हो तो as का प्रयोग होता है that का नहीं।
9. ‘its’ के स्थान पर ‘his’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि Subject ‘Director’ है। ‘its’ का प्रयोग निर्जीव वस्तुओं या छोटे जानवरों के लिए किया जाता है।
10. Verb ‘introduce’ के बाद यदि कोई Object नहीं होता तो Reflexive Pronoun का प्रयोग होता है। सही प्रयोग होगा – Mr. Sinha introduced himself (himself Reflexive Pronoun है)
11. ‘which’ के स्थान पर ‘that’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘the same’ के बाद, Verb के स्पष्ट होने की स्थिति में ‘that’ का प्रयोग होता है।
12. ‘themselves’ के स्थान पर ‘himself का प्रयोग होगा। ‘as well as’ से जब दो Subjects जोड़े जाते हैं, तो Verb / Pronoun इत्यादि का प्रयोग पहले प्रयुक्त हुए Subject के अनुसार होगा । यहाँ ‘Principal’ पहले प्रयुक्त हुआ है। अत: Singular No. का Pronoun ‘himself प्रयुक्त होगा ।
13. ‘the same’ के स्थान पर ‘it’ का प्रयोग होगा।
14. ‘this’ के स्थान पर ‘it’ का प्रयोग उचित होगा ।
15. ‘whom’ के स्थान पर Subjective Case ‘who’ का प्रयोग होगा ।
17. ‘their’ के स्थान पर ‘his’ का प्रयोग होगा।
18. ‘my’ के स्थान पर ‘our’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि दो Subjects ‘You and I’ है । अत: Plural Possessive का प्रयोग होगा।
19. चूँकि Plural Pronoun (those ) का प्रयोग हुआ है, अत: ‘old one’ (Singular के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है) के स्थान पर ‘old ones’ का प्रयोग होगा।
20. यदि ‘and’ को रखते हैं, तो ‘which’ के स्थान पर ‘it’ का प्रयोग होगा। एक दूसरा तरीका है ‘and’ को हटा दें। सही प्रयोग होगा-
