व्याख्या (Explanation)
1. ‘much’ के स्थान पर ‘more’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘than’ के पहले Comparative degree का प्रयोग होता है। ‘much’ का Comparative degree ‘more’
2. समानांतर वृद्धि या ह्रास को ‘express’ करने के लिए double comparative degree का प्रयोग होता है । अत: ‘largest ‘ के स्थान पर ‘larger’ का प्रयोग 57701
3. ‘than’ के साथ Comparative degree का प्रयोग होता है। अत: ‘very’ के स्थान पर ‘more’ का प्रयोग होगा।
4. यदि किसी Adjective का Comparative Form होता है, तो उसके साथ more का (double comparative) का प्रयोग नहीं होगा । ‘bigger’ के पहले ‘more’ का प्रयोग गलत है।
5. ‘prefer’ के साथ ‘more’ का प्रयोग नहीं होता है, क्योंकि ‘prefer’ स्वयं Comparative degree के रूप में प्रयुक्त होता है।
6. ‘word’ के स्थान पर ‘words’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘a few’ के बाद Plural Noun आता है।
7. ‘quickly’ के स्थान पर ‘quick’ का प्रयोग होगा। ‘quickly’ Adverb है और ‘quick’ Adjective Noun को Adjective qualify करता है, Adverb नहीं।
8. ‘economical’ के स्थान पर ‘economic’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि ‘economical’ का अर्थ होता है ‘सोच समझकर खर्च करना’ जबकि ‘economic’ का अर्थ है ‘आर्थिक’। यहाँ ‘economic’ का प्रयोग उचित है।
9. ‘dishonestly’ के स्थान पर ‘dishonest ‘ (Adjective) का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि यह Noun को quailfy कर रहा है। ‘dishonestly ‘ Adverb है।
10. ‘person’ का Adjective form ‘personal’ प्रयुक्त होगा, क्योंकि यह Nou (dealings) को qualify कर रहा है।
11. यदि दो Adjectives के साथ एक ही Noun का प्रयोग हुआ हो, तो इसका अर्थ होता है कि वे Adjectives उसी Noun की विशेषता बता रहे हैं। ‘good and bad people’ का अर्थ है ‘अच्छे व बुरे लोग’ अर्थात् लोग वही हैं जिनमें अच्छाई व बुराई दोनों गुण हैं, पर यहाँ भाव है ‘अच्छे लोग व बुरे लोग ‘ । अतः सही प्रयोग होगा ‘good people and bad people’.
12. ‘fastly’ गलत प्रयोग है। ‘fast’ का ही प्रयोग Adjective / Adverb के रूप में होता है।
13. ‘than’ के साथ Comparative Degree का प्रयोग होगा । अत: ‘cheap and safe’ के स्थान पर ‘cheaper and safer’ का प्रयोग होगा ।
14. ‘your’s’ के स्थान पर ‘your’ का प्रयोग होगा ।
15. ‘one of’ के बाद Plural Noun / Pronoun Subject के रूप में आता है, पर Verb Singular रहता है और Possessive Adjective भी Singular होगा । ‘their’ के स्थान पर ‘his’ का प्रयोग होगा।
16. ‘as…as’ के साथ Positive degree का प्रयोग होता है Comparative का नहीं। ‘sooner’ के स्थान पर ‘soon’ का प्रयोग होगा।
17. ‘likely’ के स्थान पर ‘the same’ का प्रयोग उचित होगा ।
18. ‘none’ की जगह ‘neither’ का प्रयोग होगा, क्योंकि दो व्यक्तियों की बात हो रही है। अत: ‘neither of’ सही प्रयोग है, ‘none of’ दो से अधिक के लिए प्रयुक्त होता है।
19. ‘much’ के स्थान पर ‘more’ का प्रयोग होगा।
20. ‘the three first’ के स्थान पर ‘the first three’ का प्रयोग होगा। Ordinal का Cardinal Adjective का प्रयोग यदि एक साथ हो, तो पहले Ordinal (first, second etc.) फिर Cordinal (one, two etc.) Adjective का प्रयोग होता है।
